Finding the Positive.

Sometimes it takes something negative to send us crashing into nature, family, quality time w a special few in place of many. A particular place in time for higher thought and creativity, introspect and gratitude. Stillness to acknowledge the whole of it, the good with the bad. I believe in us. I love us. I’m for us.

___

I wrote the above in March of 2020. I spent my 30th birthday with very few people due to lockdowns. For my birthday we took a hike and spent the first half of the day outdoors in a secluded area. It was an odd day. I was nervous about turning 30 and at the same time, desiring the kind of excitement and celebration you imagine your 30th will bring. I wasn’t going to sulk or give way to feeling like a victim (come on now), but the feelings were a bit present. Bit of bitter sweet, bit of odd and a bit of everything in between.
